Always Again is a continuation of Sarah-Faith Strait’s life-long investment in the depiction of the horse. This might be an obsession. In this MFA Thesis Exhibition, the horse undergoes a series of material investigations that embrace an ever evolving discourse between intentionality and accident. Strait creates images that oscillate between representation and abstraction, challenging human perception through the suggestion of potential movement and the passage of time. Strait’s paintings engage with the energy and spirit of the horse, broadening our understanding of how complex and multifaceted the horse truly is.
